11th ICID International Drainage Workshop on Agricultural Drainage Needs and FuturePriorities

EGYPTIAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE

Egypt has joined the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) in 1950 as a founder member country. The Egyptian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (ENCID) is a semi-Governmental entity affiliated to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) of Egypt. All members are Senior Governmental Engineers or Professors from Engineering Universities and Research Centers. ENCID has been actively participating in all ICID activities and conferences worldwide and is represented in about 10 technical work bodies of ICID. One of the important achievements of ENCID is the publishing of the bilingual Technical Dictionary on Irrigation and Drainage and the publication on “History of Irrigation Development in the Nile Basin” in two volumes.
